Abia Chief Liaison Officer supports Otti’s warning against election rigging in 2027

The Abia State Liaison Officer at the National Assembly, Chief Iheanyi Chinasa, has thrown his weight behind Gov. Alex Otti, on the Governor’s comment that those plotting to rig the 2027 election in the state, should first write their will.

Gov. Otti who made the comment during a media parley in Umuahia, on Thursday night, was reacting to alleged boasts by some individuals, that they would write the results of the state election in 2027.

Backing the Governor’s position, Chief Chinasa, vowed that any attempt by anybody, no matter how highly-placed, to manipulate the outcome of the polls, would be stoutly resisted by the people.

According to him, Abia people are so politically awake that they will no longer tolerate the usual intimidations and grandstanding that characterised “the old Abia”.

He warned “anyone banking on external influence or force” to subvert the will of the people to have a re-think as “such old tricks can no longer fly”.

Chief Chinasa said only evidence of performance, scorecards and candidates’ track records would guarantee their chances for electoral position in 2027.

He, vowed that never again, would the people be hoodwinked into accepting any poll result that “is not a true reflection of the people’s will.”

Chief Chinasa cautioned “those hiding under the cover of exalted political office” to make inflammatory remarks capable of igniting fire in the state, to beware of the implications of their actions.

He also cautioned against premature political campaigns “in clear violation of the electoral guidelines”.

The NASS liaison officer, challenged anyone planning to challenge Otti in 2027, “to first begin to show proof of performance in their current and previous positions of public trust.”

“Anybody has right to aspire to any political office but body will deceive Abia people with empty boasts. We will assess you and know what you have done in your current or past position. Party will not save anybody again. People’s works shall speak for them.

” Those who believe in sitting in one room and writing results and asking loosers to go to court should look for something else because, this time around, such old game cannot work! Our votes must count”.
