The Deputy Leader of Sagbama Local Government Legislative Assembly, Hon. Paul Ebikeseiye has refuted claims that the Legislative Assembly is plotting to impeach the incumbent Executive Chairman of the Council, Hon. Alale Ebelakpo.
The lawmaker described the impeachment claims as ‘fallacious and frivolous publication’ doctored towards misguiding the public.
The Deputy Leader on a statement sighted by DailyWatch while reacting to the allegation that the deputy leader and others was orchestrating and plotting to impeach the Council Boss.
Hon. Ebikeseiye noted that the Council was still owing the lawmakers eleven months as sitting allowance and house poll.
Statement reads in part; “My leader and friend Dr. Nikade Anderson, ordinarily I wouldn’t have responded to your fallacious and frivolous publication doctored to misguide the public about me orchestrating and plotting impeachment on the Chairman Sagbama Local Government Area.
“As a respected leader that has attained academic qualification up to PhD, I expected you to be abreast with the procedures of impeachment in local Govt system, but just imagine your mischievous and scurvy publication.
But for the sake of guiding the unwitting and setting the record straight, myself or even any of the Councillors does not have plans to impeach our Chairman.
As a calm young academia that has earned most of us respect, I expected you to condemn in it entirely the attack on legislators that was on their duties, which your boss has confessed in a meeting in Government House that he sent his CSO to be alert in the council today.
Rather, you are here pointing fingers at me singularly, well it is laughable because I never expected you to obey every directive from your boss, but it’s unfortunate the way you are going, it will get to a level where you will be force to attack your mother, father, brother and sister all to maintain that peanut, and you will gladly do it.
As friends, we have gone a long way and I never expected you to toe this path of sentiment.
While you continue to call my name out just as you did to Chief (Hon) Collins Cocodia, note it is not 9 months Chairman has paid us, ask him he is owing us 11 month sitting allowance and house poll.
I don’t want to mention other things allowances because we have trashed out our differences with Mr Chairman and we are good to go, so continue your eye service post”, he stated.
