Agudama-Epie Agog As Paramount Ruler Goes Home Friday

The sprawling town of Agudama-Epie in Yenagoa, Capital of Bayelsa State is agog with beehive of preparations and activities for the funeral of its Paramount Ruler, HRH Wisdom Caeser Franklin.
Already, as part of the obsequies, an inter-denominational Service of Songs, took place at his palace last Wednesday.
A statement by Mr. Onizibe Franklin, the Chief Mourner and Chief Wilcox Franklin, brother of the deceased, says Greater Evangelism World Crusade where the deceased worshipped, will take charge of the commendation service and interment tomorrow, Friday, November 13, 2020 in Agudama-Epie.
Other activities in the 10-day programme ending November 10, 2020, include football matches between the deceased’s son’s club and Agudama-Epie team as well as Papilo’s Boys football club versus non-indigenes; owigiri entertainment, first by Commander Atika, followed by Barrister Smooth; Simple Boys Dance Band and Sir Abraham Young in different days.
Also lined up are Okapka Okakpa Dance; Girls Dance featuring DJ Kendo; wrestling competition, indoor games among others.
Aged 71, HRH Franklin died December 20, 2019 in course of illness in Yenagoa. His funeral was rescheduled due to the COVID-19 lockdown which stopped large gatherings.
He is survived by Mrs. Ebigoni Franklin, wife, Mrs. Ayakiri Franklin, Nee Gunn, wife, children: Mr. Onizibe Franklin; Mrs. Yaizibe Adire; Mrs. Bunene Isaac; Mrs. Sinime Benson and Mrs Oviezibe Oba; seven grand children; Chief Wilcox Franklin, Mr. Joseph Franklin; Mesomowo Franklin, Mr. Oyitoyin Franklin as younger brothers; Mrs. Helen Courtesy Odumgba, Mrs Amawulu John; Mrs. Abeze Ototo and many other relations.
HRH Wisdom Caeser Franklin, an air survey graduate of the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University, was a civil servant in the then Rivers and later Bayelsa State until he retired meritoriously.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of Agudama-Epie Chiefs Council, Chief Bestman Lionel Oku and Chairman of the funeral committee, Mr. Otovie Sambo and its Secretary, Mr. Gideon Titus, have thanked the indigenes of the community and others for their support to the bereaved family and the community.
Similarly, the Youth President, Comrade Prudent Oguruguru, has appluaded youths for their cooperation, but cautioned that acts of harassment and criminality would not be condoned during and after the funeral. He therefore advised, natives and visitors to be law-abiding else culprits would be handed over to law enforcement agencies.
