VP Osinbajo escapes death as helicopter land-crashes in Kogi

Nigeria was Saturday, saved of what would have been a national tragedy as the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo escaped death when his chopper crash -landed in Kogi State.
The incident occurred at Kabba, Kogi state, where the chopper was about landing.
Senior Special Assistant to the Vice-President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Laolu Akande who disclosed this in a tweet said Osinbajo and his crew were unhurt.
“VP Osinbajo’s Chopper crash lands in Kabba, but he and the entire crew safe. He is continuing with his engagements and plans for the day in Kogi State,” Akande said via Twitter.
Wawa News Global reports that this would not be the first time the Vice President would be involved in an air-craft related incident as a military helicopter which conveyed him to an assignment site in Abuja has a faulty engine shorty after taking off.
The helicopter was forced to have an emergency landing, resulting to its abandonment by the VP who was driven back to the Presidential Villa in his convoy that had to race to the scene on rescue mission.
