Our Reporter
A significant gathering of All Abam Onyerubi Sons and Daughters (AAOS) from Abia State, both at home and abroad, took place on Saturday 19th October, 2024 at Amaelu Abam and it was decided that Abam Development Union (ADU) will be dissolved until a caretaker committee is formed for the benefit of Abam Onyerubi as a community rather than for personal political ambitions.
Currently, the President Generals (PGs) of each community in Abam are tasked with handling their own matters as the ADU has been disbanded.
In the meantime, the following individuals have been appointed as interim Committee members to manage the operations of Abam Development Union (ADU) until a genuine and transparent election is held to progress Abam.
Those individuals are:
Apostle Daniel Okoronkwo Ndem will fulfill the role of President General, Mr Onwubiko Otti (Copra) as Vice and is joined by Mr Mgbo Mathew Hyacinth as Secretary General, Mr Godswill Njoku as PRO, Mr Dennis Uzoegwu as Provost, Prince Ike Kalu as Organizing Secretary, and Elder Paul Nkole as Treasurer.
After the ADU is dissolved, the committee needs to collaborate with all PGs from the 26 villages in Abam, including Nde Ezeogo, and the youth chairmen from different communities for the people’s best interests.
