Nigeria trashes South Africa 4:2 to qualify for finals

Super Eagles of Nigeria, Wednesday, defeated the Bafana Bafana of South Africa by 4:2 in a penalty shoot out to qualify for the finals in the on-going African Cup of Nations.

The Eagles got a penalty after Victor Osimhen was brought down in the box by Mothobi Mvala of South Africa at the Stade de la Paix in Bouake, Ivory Coast.
Nigeria led 1-0 in the 67th minute when Captain William Troost-Ekong converted a penalty into the net
South Africa later equalized and the match ended 1:1 in the full time.
After a goaless extra time, the match was decided by penalty shoot out which ended 4-2 in Nigeria’s favour
Nigeria has now qualified for the finals scheduled for Sunday.
