 El-Rufai 4 others pending as senate confirms Wike, Umahi, Onyejeocha, 42 others

The Nigerian Senate Monday, refused to confirm the immediate-past Governor of Kaduna State, and a ministerial nominee, Nasir El-Rufai, as a Minister of the Federal Republic.
Similarly, the former Deputy Governor  of Taraba  State,  Senator  Abubakar Danladi; and Stella Okotete, a nominee from Delta State, were not confirmed as the Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio said five nominees were awaiting security clearance.
This is as the upper legislative chamber confirmed the strong man of Rivers politics, and the  immediate past Governors of the state, Nyesom Wike.
Confirmed also was the immediate-past Governor of Ebonyi State and the Deputy Minority Senate Leader, Senator David Umahi.
The Senate also confirmed the immediate-past Deputy Whip of the House of Representatives who represented Isuikwuato-Umunneochi federal constituency at the 9th House of Representatives, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha.
Other nominees confirmed by the Senate were former Minister  of State for Labour  and  Employment,  Festus  Keyamo,  SAN; Lateef  Fagbemi,  SAN; Hon. Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, among others .
Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio said about five nominees were awaiting security clearance.
Senator Akpabio said that 45 out of the 48 nominees sent by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for screening had been confirmed.
Wawa News Global reports that the screening lasted for one week.
