NDE Trains 30 graduate on Business skills in Bayelsa

In order to equip youths with the necessary tools of survival in the current economic hardship, the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has commence the training of 30 graduate on basic business skills in Bayelsa State.

Speaking at the opening ceremony in Yenagoa, the Director General of National Directorate of Employment, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu said, the four days training is to equipped the graduates with technical and business skills towards making them successful in their chosen skill.

Represented by the Bayelsa State Coordinator, Mr.Aham Osuchuckwu stated that the objective for the training is to equip the participants to become self-employed and employers of labour.

The State coordinator urged youths in the State to avail themselves with necessary training available at the State office, saying the business training will expose participates to the rudiments of cash management, marketing, business ethics, quality management, cost of products and services.

Other areas include management of workers, purchasing and stock control, record keeping, source of funds and business failures and causes.

He said, to bridge the gap of unemployment that exist in the informal sector of Nigerian economy, NDE adopted the self employment option in fighting the menace of unemployment in the country.

He listed Vocational skills development (VSD), Rural Employment Promotions Department (REP), Special Public Works(SPW) and Small Scale Enterprises(SSE) as four core programme departments of NDE.

In his remarks, Mr.Christopher Okougha who represented the Director of SSE, urged the trainees to take the four days training seriously as it contains all they need to make a success of the enviropreneurship training earlier granted them.
