‘But for the South, North would have remained a barren desert’ – Fani-Kayode
By Steve Oko
Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani -Kayode, has disagreed with the claims that the North is the region sustaining Nigeria, contending that but for the South, the North would not have survived for too long.
Fani -Kayode who made the submission on his twitter handle, @realFFK was reacting to the claim by @elrufai that “Northern Nigeria still feeds the nation”.
The former Minister who said that the North has always depended on the South demanded that a real head count be made to know the exact population of each tribe.
His words :”The north has NEVER fed the nation but has ALWAYS lived off her. It has depended on the south for EVERYTHING for 105 yrs.
“Were it not for southern resources, kindness and generosity the north would be still be a barren desert.”
He was responding to “Our demographic superiority gives us a powerful tool”-@elrufai.
