By Steve Oko
Senator Mao Ohuabunwa has felicitated Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu, and the good people of Abia State as the state marks its 31st anniversary.

The former Leader ECOWAS Parliament in a goodwill message paid glowing tributes to the founding fathers of the state who sacrificed both time and resources to actualise the creation of the state 31 years ago.
He equally commended successive administations in the state for their various efforts towards building a virile state envisioned by the founding fathers.
Senator Ohuabunwa noted that although the dream state of the founding fathers might not have been fully accomplished, substantial efforts had variously been made by successive administations in the state.
He commended the efforts of Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu towards leaving Abia better than he met it.
Ohuabunwa who said that Abia is heavily endowed with both human and material resources urged Abians to remain commited towards actualising the great dreams of the founding fathers of the state.
He described Abians as highly enterprising people who have demonstrated capacity and excellence in various fields of endeavour.
The 2023 senatorial candidate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for Abia North, particularly congratulated the people of Abia North and urged them to keep hope alive.
He, however, expressed concern over the disturbing security situation in the zone but encouraged the people not to live in fears in their ancestral land.
Senator Ohuabunwa expressed confidence that with PDP returning to power at the centre, the rising insecurity in the country would be a thing of the past.
He, therefore, urged the people to keep their voter’s card intact in readiness for the 2023 polls which he said would mark a turning point in the history of the country.
