I’m familiar with Abia challenges, can easily fix them if… – Deputy gov

Deputy Governor of Abia State, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, has said that he is very familiar with the challenges of Abia State, and stands a better chance of fixing them if given the opportunity in 2023.
Sir Oko Chukwu who is a leading governorship aspirant of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, stated this when he visited Ukwa East, Ukwa West and Ugwunagbo Council areas.
He solicited the support of the people to enable him get the PDP ticket so he could apply his wealth of knowledge over the years in tackling the challenges of the state.
The former Speaker Abia House of Assembly, said a vote for him ” is a vote well cast”, promising to hit the ground running once sworn into office.
His words: “Our future is in our hands and the time to make things aright is now. A vote for me during primary election is a vote for confidence and it’s not a wasted vote.
“We must be the number one state in all ramifications and you are the one that will determine who govern us.
God has given us a responsibility to do the right thing by electing the best person.
” I’m a party man and I have worked selflessly and assiduously for our great party. I strongly believe that If you work for the party, the party will in turn reward you”.
The Deputy Governor described Ukwa West as the treasure base of the state and deserves honour and respect, hence his decision to to flag off his consultation embedded with “message of hope” in the area.
He reminded the stakeholders that he had laid down his life for the party as a servant and had also served as a legislator in the State House of Assembly for 12 years.
Oko Chukwu noted that as the Speaker, the House was adjudged the most peaceful.
The former Speaker said that as a legislator he sponsored many bills which positively affected both the state economy and the lives of Abia residents.
Speaking earlier, the immediate past Secretary to State Government, SSG, Dr Eme Okoro, described Oko Chukwu as a seasoned person who had garnered the needed experience to fix Abia.
He said power should shift to Abia North in 2023 in keeping with the charter of equity, and urged the delegates to support Oko Chukwu’s candidacy.
In their respective speeches, Chairman, Ukwa West LGA, Chief Okey Kanu; his Deputy Comrade John Ajuzeogu; PDP Chairman, Ukwa West, Comrade Comrade Kingsley Enyite; among others spoke in favour of Oko Chukwu.
The assured him that humility would be considered in deciding who would fly the PDP flag in 2023.
At Ukwa East, Hon. Paul Taribo, member representing Ukwa East state Constituency; Ukwa East LGA Chairman, Chief Chuks Wabara, represented by his Deputy, Mr. Eric Ugbor; the Sole Administrator Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, Rt. Hon. Emeka Stanley; among others, described Oko Chukwu as “a man with great experience and urged him to be strong as there are in support of his guber ambition”.
At Ugwunagbo, the PDP LGA Chairman, Hon. Promise Iheasimuo received the UdeAbia 2023 team with assurance by
Chinyere Onuoha who responded on behalf of Ugwunagbo people that they would do the needful at the appropriate time.
He encouraged Oko Chukwu to be strong and be consistent in his consultations.
