VEF donates 5 cartons of bleach, facemask, others valued N56m to 3 Abia schools

A Non-Governmental Organization, Victims Support Fund Taskforce on COVID19, has donated sanitation and hygiene facilities plus a solar-powered water borehole valued at whopping N56 million to three secondary schools in Abia state to assist them in the fight against COVID19 pandemic.
The three benefitting schools drawn one from each of the three senatorial districts in the state are Abam high school in Arochukwu, Community secondary school Isingwu Umuahia, and Ndiakata Secondary School in Obingwa Local Government Area.
The items include: a solar-powered borehole, four hand wash stations, 2000 pieces of reusable facemasks, five pieces of four litre hand sanitisers, 120 bottles of 500ml liquid hand wash, and five cartons of bleach.
Presenting the items to the benefiting schools, the Chairman of the NGO, Mrs Toyosi Akerele-Ogunsiji said that they decided to embark on the venture in order to provide succour to victims of covid-19 pandemic.
She noted that fifty four schools were selected in eighteen states across the six geo-political zones of the country for the gesture.
Receiving the items the Senior Special Adviser to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu on Communication, Mr Sam Hart, thanked the donors for the gesture stating that it would go a long way in steming the spread of COVID19 pandemic in the state.
He urged the benefiting schools to ensure the safety of the items.
Some of students in an interview expressed joy over the gesture promising to make good use of them.
