Plan to rig PDP chairmanship primaries in Umunneochi busted

One of the leading contenders in the Local Government Chairmanship primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party in Umunneochi, Ugochukwu Uwaeke, has busted plans to rig the election.
Uwaeke who was literally agitated over the sad development posted a video of those behind the hatchet Job.
At the centre of the saga according to Uwaeke are a serving lawmaker in the state, his brother who is one of the finaciers of PDP, a serving Transition Committee Chairman, and a PDP council Chairman.

He said he caught them red handed at a popular hotel in Umuahia trying to compromise the man delegated by the PDP to conduct the exercise.
In an interview with Wawa News Global, Ugochukwu said that those behind the plot had approached a former Council boss in the state officially delegated by PDP to supervise the exercise in Umunneochi, urging him to “deliver their own candidate.”
He said he sharply opposed them, insisting that all contenders should be given equal opportunity to test their popularity at the field.
Uwaeke said they later left for Umunneochi after the State Chairman had finished addressing everybody at the party office.

“But unknown to them”, he added, ” I was trailing them in another car after giving them about 10 minutes gap. And I trailed them to a hotel here in Umuahia where I caught them red handed trying to compromise the official delegate.”
The former Abia Line Network boss said the moment he barged into the hotel the ploters who had strong security personnel attached to them threatened to shoot him.
Rancorous shouts were overheared on the background in the ensuing altercation according to the video he posted.
Uwaeke insisted that the primaries must be conducted on a level play ground for all the contestants to make way for the emergence of the most popular aspirant to fly the PDP ticket.
He called on the PDP leadership in the state not to allow anyone hijack the process and rob the people of Umunneochi their right to choose their preferred candidate democratically.
