Breaking : Ikpeazu fires 3 TC chairmen, commissioner, TIMAAS boss

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, has “approved the immediate suspension” of the Transition Committee Chairmen of three Local Government Areas from office.

The affected LGAs include : Aba North, Aba South, and Umunneochi.

While the Aba North and that of Aba South Council bosses were suspended, their Umunneochi counterpart, Hon. Matthew Ibe was outrightly relieved of his duty.

A release by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr. Anthony Agbazuere, announced Eze Chikamnayo as replacement for Hon. Ibe.

The release also announced the immediate suspension of the General Manager of Traffic and Indiscipline Management Agency of Abia State (TIMAAS).

According to the release, Ikpeazu has also relieved the Commissioner for Transport, Barr. Ekele Nwaohammuo of his appointment as Honourable Commissioner.

No reasons were however, given for the action.

The release said the Governor had also approved the appointment of Mr. Tony Nwanmuo, and Godswill Nwonoruo as Commissioner nominees.

According to the release, the Deputy Chairmen of the affected LGAs are to take over from them immediately.

The release read in part :”The Deputy Chairmen of the affected Local Government Areas are to take over, and together with their Heads of Service immediately set up a taskforce to check environmental indiscipline and other vices.

“TIMASS taskforce is also to be setup to further check these excesses.”
