Jubilation in Arochukwu as Ohuabunwa distributes palliative items

There has been wild jubilation across the political wards in Arochukwu Local Government Area as Senator Mao Ohuabunwa who represented Abia North senatorial district in the eight senate has been distributing palliative items to help cushion the adverse effects of the covid-19 pandemic among the people.
Ohuabunwa, has since the first week of July been moving round all 11 political wards in the council to distribute palliative items including rice, salt and indommie noodles.
Speaking during the end of the exercise at Ovukwu ward Abam at the weekend, Ohuabunwa said he embarked on the project to help mitigate the biting effects of covid -19 on families in the area .
The former Speaker, ECOWAS Parliament who was represented by Chief Felix Ukpabi, a Special Adviser to the Governor, noted with pains, the devastating effects of coronavirus pandemic on the economy of nations.
He however urged the people not to despair but have faith in God for an end to the global pandemic.
He assured the people that he would never abandon them whether or not he is holding any political office, while tasking them on the equitable distribution of the items.
Senator Ohuabunwa who had earlier distributed hand sanitizers and nose masks to the people of Abia North, also urged the people to endeavour to observe all the necessary safety protocols regarding covid 19.
He also tasked them to maintain social distancing, regular wash of hands with running water and use of face masks as part of measures to stem the spread of the pandemic.
In his response, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in the ward, Chief Ifeanyi John thanked Ohuabunwa for the gesture, and prayed God to bless him.
He described Ohuabunwa as a compassionate politician who has always empathised with his constituents, a quality, he noted, had endeared him so much to the people.
Similarly, the Chairman of PDP at Isu ward, Mr. Vincent Ulukwu, who described Ohuabunwa as a leader sensitive to the plight of his people, prayed God to soon reposition him for the sake of the people.
