Varsity don tasks communities on local solution to challenges

A university don , Dr. Uwaoma Uche (an Associate Professor), has tasked local communities in the country to initiate proactive actions towards tackling challenges confronting them.
The Head, Department of Mass Communication, Rhema University Aba, threw the challenge while launching his pet project, Ihechiowa Students Scholars E_platform.
Dr Uwaoma Uche who is the publicity relations Executive of the Ihechiowa Development Union for the past eight years called on communities to take their destiny in their hands and fashion out development-oriented initiatives to better the lots of their people instead of soleiy depending on government and “unreliable politicians.”
He said he initiated the weekly discourse to interface with students and scholars to address community issues, and to project the ihechiowa intellectuals contribution for international consumption.
The former HOD, Mass Communication, Abia State University Uturu, said the initiative was part of his contributions to community communication development and advancing the frontiers of academics.
Topics to be addressed in July include: Infrastructural decays in ihechiowa schools,addressing covid19 and infectious diseases,ihechiowa educational system a retrospective analysis and legal issues and female inheritance.
Notable professionals such as Prof Ogbonnaya Ulu, Professor Ejitu Ota, Professor Kalu Ogbaa, Dr sunny Orie, Dr Chinyere Okoro, Dr Mrs Noel Ogamba , Dr John Amah among others, are expected to deliver lectures in July and August to address community issues.
Others expected to feature in the programme are Dr kalu Nnaukwu Kalu and Barr Chukudi Nweke among.
