Abia guber tussle : Please don’t go to supreme court again, ex-SSG begs Otti
Steve Oko
Former Secretary to Abia State Government Pastor Ralph Egbu, has pleaded with the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA , in the 2019 polls, Dr. Alex Otti, to accept the judgment of the Court of Appeal which dismissed his petition against the election of Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu.

The former Information Commissioner who made the appeal in Umuahia said Otti should jettison the idea of any further legal tussle over the judgment “for the sake of Abia”.
Otti’s suit against Ikpeazu’s election in 2015 was decoded by the apex court which eventually resolved it in favour of the governor.
Egbu who expressed concern that protracted legal fireworks over political elections was not in the best interest of the state.
The former SSG appealed to Otti “to let go and and allow the will of the people prevail by dropping any intention to go to the Supreme Court “.
He, therefore called on Abia Council of Elders to wade in and prevail on the APGA candidate in the interest of the state.
The former Commissioner further observed that protracted litigations “are enough distraction to the man in power”.
He, however, urged Gov. Ikpeazu not to allow the challenges of governance to dampen his spirit to leave Abia better than he met it”.
Egbu solicited the support of Abians for Gov. Ikpeazu , expressing confidence that “very soon Abia workers and pensioners will have cause to rejoice”.
