‘FG behind Air Peace CEO travails’ – IPOB
The Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, has accused the Federal Government of sponsoring the on-going probe and trial of the Chief Executive Officer of Air Peace airline, Chief Allen Onyema.
Onyema is currently facing prosecution in a United States of American court for alleged money laundering over a $20 million air craft deal.
IPOB in a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful alleged that the Federal Government was behind the ordeals of the Air Peace owner to cripple his business.
The pro -Biafra group also accused the Federal Government of involvement in the protracted xenophobic attacks against Nigerias in South Africa with Ndigbo as the major victims.
“There is clear indications that federal government of Nigeria is behind the xenophobic attack against Nigerians particularly Biafra citizens living in South Africa”, the statement read.
It further read :”The recent concocted probe against a man of peace, Chairman Airpeace company, Chief Alien Onyema proves every doubt by certain individuals that federal government of Nigeria is part of the discussion to attack our people in far away South Africa last two months.
“We are aware that Alien Onyema volunteered himself and his air peace company to evacuate Nigerians and Biafrans stranded in South Africa for free of charge because of unholy attacks against them.
“Nigeria government in their usual ways of bringing down any Biafran who serve them decided to use this latest probe to stop air peace company from operations.”
IPOB which insisted that “Onyema did not committ any crime anywhere around the world”, called on men of good conscience to stand with him in his trying moments.
The statement further read :”IPOB will condenm and fight every effort by federal government through EFCC to strangle down chief Onyema’s business and person.
“Every Biafra and good people in Nigeria and the world must stand up to condenm this evil movement against innocent man because they will extend it to other people who would intend to help Nigerians attacked anywhere across the globe.
“The probe of air peace boss Chief Onyema who recently conveyed Igbos and other Biafrans in South Africa free of charge during the xenophobic attack is suicidal because IPOB must stand for him and it cannot hold.”
