Flight operations resume in Imo airport after fire outbreak

Flight operations have resumed at the Sam Mbakwe Cargo Airport Owerri, Imo State after an early afternoon fire outbreak that gutted the arrival wing of the airport.
Wawa News Global checks revealed that Peace Airline passenger plane touched down at the airport in the evening after the inferno.
The cause of the fire outbreak is yet to be ascertained as at press time.
It took the spirited efforts of fire fighters and airport workers as well as security operatives to bring the inferno under control.
According to a source at the scene, the arrival wing which is currently undergoing some renovation works was seriously affected by the inferno which raged for about 50 minutes before it was finally put out.
