Reports reaching Wawa News Global say that no sooner had Oshiomhole mounted the podium to make his remarks than suspected hoodlums started pelting him with stones.
Party supporters at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta, venue of the rally were embarrassed by the incident which caused scare and tension among the crowd.
One of the stones reportedly flew in the direction of Buhari, and would have hit him but for the timely intervention of one of his security aides who rather took the hit for him.
Security cordon was immediately formed around the President for the eventuality of the unknown.
Meanwhile, the Presidency is yet to officially react on the incident.
It is not yet known if there were any casualties but reports say some of the hoodlums were later arrested with charms.
