. Says no cause for alarm, Emenike a distraction
From Steve Oko, Umuahia
The Abia State Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Hon. Donatus Nwankpa, has described the factional governorship candidate of the party, Chief Ikechi Emenike, as a distraction.
Nwankpa was reacting to an Abuja federal High Court ruling which ordered that Emenike be recognized as the authentic candidate of APC in the forthcoming governorship poll.
He said that Emenike never participated in the party’s primaries and could not benefit from from its outcome.
Nwankpa said that there was already another court ruling restraining Emenike from parading himself as the party’s governorship candidate.
According to him, the court Order recognized Dr. Uche Ogah as APC’s governorship candidate, position he said subsists.
He said that the matter was already pending at the Appeal Court, and expressed confidence in the judiciary for justice.
Nwankpa urged members of APC to remain calm and sustain their support for the party saying “there is no cause for alarm”.
Wawa News Global recalls that the National Chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomhole, had during a recent mega rally of the party at the Umuahia Township Stadium described Emenike as a “PDP mole in APC.”
Oshiomhole said Emenike was working for the State Government and ruling PDP in the state but said he would never succeed .
The former Edo State Governor who declared Ogah the authentic flag bearer of APC for the Abia governorship poll expressed hope that he would sweep the poll irrespective of the antics of his detractors.
