By Steve Oko
Members of the All Progressive Party, APC, in 14 out of the 17 Local Government Areas in Abia State have unanimously adopted Dr. Uche Ogah as their consensus candidate ahead of the party’s governorship primaries on Saturday.
The LGAs include : Umunneochi , Isiukwuato, Bende , Ohafia and Arochukwu.
Others include Umuahia North , Umuahia South, Isialangwa South, Isialangwa North, Aba North and Aba South .
Ikwuano, Ukwa West, and Osisioma LGAs also adopted him.

The remaining three LGAs: Ukwa East, Ugwunagbo, and Obingwa pledged their support for the oil magnet whose popularity has continued to swell across the state.
Ogah, a leading Governorship aspirant for the 2019 poll has been criss-crossing the LGAs soliciting their support .
He rounded off the tour of LGAs Thursday night at Bended where a mammoth crowd of party faithful as well as other locals trooped out enmass to give him a rousing welcome.
Ben Kalu who is one of the House of Representatives aspirants in Bende said Ogah had the needed qualities to rescue and reposition Abia.
He assured him of the full support of Bende people at the forthcoming primaries .

Where ever he visited the people had said Abians looked up to him for “deliverance” come 2019.
They assured him of their total support, adding that if APC fields him as its flag bearer in 2019, the election would be a walkover for the party.

The people also said Abians would massively vote for Ogah irrespective of any political party he chooses to run for the seat of power .
Most of the party chieftains who spoke during the tour warned APC against fielding an unpopular candidate.
They said APC’s dream of wresting power from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party would be a mere wish if Ogah “whose credibility is unquestionable ” is denied the party’s ticket.

The speakers were in agreement that Ogah has the “credibility, capacity and capability to crush PDP “.
According to them, the only APC candidate Abians are waiting for is Ogah who they said has a proven track record of integrity and enterprise.

They urged the party leadership to abide by its stand against zoning which promotes mediocrity against merit.
They also urged the party leadership to ensure that the primaries were free and fair.
