Abia under PDP in ICU – APGA chair, begs Abians to rise against bad governance
By Steve Oko
The Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, in Abia State, Rev. Augustine Ehiemere, has claimed that the state, under the watch of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is in the ” Intensive Care Unit, ICU”.
Ehiemere who made the assertion while addressing party faithful in Umuahia North and South Local Government Areas, during a sensitisation visit, urged the people of the state to rise against misgovernance in 2023 by voting massively for APGA candidates.
The APGA Chairman who said that APGA was on a rescue mission to salvage the state from political captivity, urged the people to rally behind APGA candidates in the 2023 elections.
He advised them against the antics of those he described as “emergency philanthropists”, who only embark on humanitarian gestures during election seasons for the purpose of winning elections.
Later in a similar visit at Umuokpara, APGA candidate for Umuahia South state constituency, Chief Emmanuel Egwu, said the wind of change blowing across the state would blow away the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
He promised to sponsor a compulsory bill that will make pensioners go home with their entitlements at the point of their retirement.
In a remark, the candidate for Umuahia North state consituency, Chinedu Obilor ( Iyierioba), said that the plights of Abia workers and pensioners following months of unpaid salaries, would be a thing of the past under APGA.
Speaking at the event, Sir Emeka Okafor, who is the Director General of the Campaign Organisation of APGA’s governorship candidate in Abia, Professor Greg Ibe, expressed faith that Abia would be rebuilt if APGA were voted into power in 2023.
Canvasing support for Professor Ibe, Okafor said he would be the first to lead a revolution against the APGA flag bearer if he failed to deliver within two years after assuming office.
