Obident Movement counters purported postponement of Umunneochi collegiate c’ttee inauguration

Obident Movement, Abia State chapter, has urged members of the public to discountenance a purported statement claiming that the inauguration of the Umunneochi Local Government Collegiate Committee of the movement scheduled for today (Saturday, September 20), had been suspended.
The movement in a statement issued by Pastor Prince Solomon, and Mrs Ebere Obiesie, both of whom are the Abia State Contact Person/South East & National Advisory Committee members, dismissed news of the purported postponement as fake and misleading.
Other signatories were Dr Chibuzor Obiesili, Abia State Obident Collegiate Committee Spokesperson; and Hon. Amaechi Chukwu, Umunneochi Local Government Representative and Abia State Collegiate Committee member.
The statement was copied to the National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Dr Tanko Yunusa, and the South East Advisory Committee respectively.
According to the statement, the inauguration is still holding as earlier scheduled.
A copy of the statement made available to Wawa News Global read in part:
“It has come to the notice of OBIDIENT MOVEMENT in Abia State that one Comrade Chukwuebuka Ezennaka (alias DE GURU) and Mr. T.C Eze have issued a public statement to the effect that the scheduled inauguration of the OBIDIENT COLLEGIATE COMMITTEE for Umunneochi LGA on the 20” September 2025 has been postponed.
“While the State COLLEGIATE COMMITTEE ordinarily would not pay attention to such distraction, it is important to notify the public that there is no such thing as the postponement of the inauguration of Umunneochi LGA Obidient Collegiate Committee scheduled to hold on the 20” September 2025.
“We further want to inform the general public that the OBIDIENT MOVEMENT in Abia State is intact and has no divisions as there are no such position as Coordinator both at the State and Local government levels. The Movement is run by a Collegiate Committee at both levels.
“Thus, State OBIDIENT COLLEGIATE COMMITTEE wishes to inform the general public and Umunneochi LGA Obedient Movement in particular, that the inauguration earlier approved by the State Collegiate Committee holds as follows:
“Date: 20” September 2025
Venue: Amuda Town Development Union Hall (Women Wing), Amuda Isuochi
Time: 10am prompt”.
It urged the people of Umunneochi to troop out enmasss and join the movement in its bid to form a formidable army of change agents that would birth a new Nigeria.
Wawa News Global reports that the Obident Movement is coalition of believers in the possibility of a New Nigeria as expounded by the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi.
Membership of the organic national movement cuts across all political parties including the diaspora community.
