Klinsmann again, knocks Soludo, says Anambra under siege
* Calls for his removal in November poll

Swedish-based Artificial Intelligence (AI) creativity startup Chief Executive Officer, Pharm Ikeagwuonwu Chinedu Klinsmann, has claimed that Anambra State “is under hostage by criminals.”
Accusing the Governor of underperformance, the All Progressives Congress, APC chieftain, urged the people to vote him out in the forthcoming November governorship poll.
The Policy Analyst in a statement, accused Gov. Chukwuma Soludo of not doing enough to protect residents against perpetrators of insecurity in the state.
He alleged that “the most glaring failures of Soludo’s administration is the worsening security situation in Anambra.”
Klinsmann recalled that during his campaign, Soludo promised to tackle the menace of “unknown gunmen and restore safety across the state; yet, insecurity has not only persisted but escalated under his watch, surpassing the challenges faced during his predecessor’s tenure.”
Citing reports of increased kidnappings, robberies, and communal conflicts, Klinsmann urged Soludo to do more to provide security for Anambra residents.
He argued that with increased federal allocation “freed up by the removal of fuel subsidy”, Governors have no excuses not to fund security agencies in their state.
“Soludo has unprecedented funds at his disposal, yet he has not shown the political will to deploy these resources effectively to secure lives and property,” Klinsmann argued, echoing his call for governors to be held accountable for prudent management of security votes.
He said “the hypocrisy lies in Soludo’s claim to preserve what works while ignoring a security system that is clearly broken, leaving communities vulnerable and undermining economic activities.”
Claiming that Soludo’s scorecard do not match his claims, the Policy Analyst countered the Governor’s position in a lecture titled: “If It’s Not Broken, Why Mend It?”
He alleged that the lecture was used by Soludo to project an image of prudent and visionary leadership, adding that “it is not only riddled with hypocrisy but also serves as a mirror reflecting the glaring failures of his administration as Governor of Anambra State.”
As the November 8, 2025, governorship election approaches, Klinsmann urged “Ndi Anambra to reject Soludo’s rhetoric and demand accountability for a state that under his leadership, is undeniably broken and in desperate need of mending.”
According to him, Soludo in the lecture posited that systems, policies, and institutions should only be reformed if they are demonstrably flawed, advocating continuity over unnecessary change.
But in a sharp contrast, Klinsmann said:”This philosophy, while appealing in theory, has been exposed as a hollow mantra when viewed against the backdrop of Soludo’s governance”.
“While preaching preservation of functional systems, Soludo has presided over the deterioration of critical sectors in Anambra, from security to infrastructure, local governance, and economic empowerment”, Klinsmann alleged.
He said:“Soludo’s lecture was a masterclass in intellectual posturing, but his actions as Governor reveal a man who ignores broken systems while pretending they are intact.
“If Soludo truly believed his own words, he would have mended the broken systems in Anambra—security, local governance, and economic opportunity—rather than doubling down on policies that undermine progress,” Klinsmann stated.
He also accused Soludo of not allowing Local Governments in the state to enjoy their financial autonomy as ordered by the Supreme court judgement of July 2024.
“Perhaps the most egregious example of Soludo’s hypocrisy is his handling of local government autonomy. In his lecture, Soludo championed efficient governance structures, yet his administration has actively worked to undermine the Supreme Court’s landmark July 2024 ruling on local government autonomy.
“The Anambra Local Government Administration Law 2024, signed by Soludo, mandates that federal allocations to local governments be funneled through a state-controlled joint account, with a percentage deducted before disbursement.
“By hijacking local government funds, he is stifling grassroots development and denying communities the resources they need to thrive.”
Klinsmann argued that “this move not only contradicts Soludo’s own rhetoric but also exposes his desperation to maintain control at the expense of local governance.”
“The result is a broken system where local governments, meant to drive development at the grassroots, are rendered impotent, unable to create jobs or provide essential services”, he regretted.
He claimed that Soludo had not done enough in infrastructure, accusing the Governor of over celebrating the ‘little achievements’ recorded in the sector.
Klinsmann also touted “Soludo’s much-touted visit to Olumbanasaa” which he said was for political reasons.
He said that “while the visit was historic, it was more about political optics than substantive development.”
“Soludo traveled by boat and keke to Olumbanasaa, but what has changed for the people there since his visit? The roads remain impassable, and the promised Primary Health Centre is yet to fully materialize,” Klinsmann said.
He further said:” Soludo’s focus on projects like water fountains and recreation centers, such as the Soludo Fun City, has drawn criticism for prioritizing aesthetics over critical infrastructure. Anambra deserves more than water fountains and amusement parks when refuse heaps are taking over our towns and major roads remain in disrepair.
“The promise of transforming Anambra into a Dubai, Taiwan, and Hong Kong has been reduced to cosmetic projects that fail to address the state’s crumbling infrastructure, contradicting Soludo’s own call to preserve and build on what works.”
Klinsmann accused Soludo of not fulfilling his economic empowerment: promises to the people of Anambra.
“Soludo’s lecture emphasized economic prudence, yet his administration has failed to deliver on promises of economic empowerment for Ndi Anambra.
He highlighted the closure of Onitsha Bridge Head Drug Market by NAFDAC as “a missed opportunity for Soludo to demonstrate leadership.”
According to him, instead of collaborating with federal agencies to address the proliferation of counterfeit drugs, “Soludo resorted to blaming the Nigeria Customs Service,” a move Klinsmann described as political grandstanding.
“Soludo’s failure to pro-actively address this issue has left traders and consumers in limbo, undermining Anambra’s economic hub,” he lamented.
Accused Soludo of stifling the opposition, he said that “Soludo’s lecture advocated rational governance, yet his administration has been accused of using authoritarian tactics to suppress opposition.”
He alleged that the removal of campaign billboards belonging to opposition candidates, amounts to political rascality.
He acknowledged that the Governor’s construction of Government House was a notable achievement, but added that “that does not compensate for the broader failures in governance.”
“Soludo wants us to celebrate a new Government House while our people live in fear and our roads remain impassable. This is not leadership; it is misplacement of priorities,” he argued.
The APC chieftain mocked Soludo over
the recent resignation of some of his aides including Senior Special Assistant on Administration, Chief Jude Emecheta, describing it as “a sign of discontent and a testament of internal fracture”.
“When your closest allies abandon ship, it’s a clear sign that the system is broken. Soludo cannot claim to preserve what works when his own team is walking away,” Klinsmann mocked.
He insisted that Soludo’s administration “has failed to deliver on its promises”, saying that “the people of Anambra are not blind; they see the broken systems and are ready to mend them by voting for change”.
“Soludo’s lecture was a clever disguise for inaction. He has had his chance to mend Anambra’s broken systems, but he has failed. On November 8, 2025, let us mend Anambra by voting him out,” Klinsmann declared.
Klinsmann described the swelling support and endorsements for the APC governorship candidate, Nicholas Ukachukwu, “as evidence of a shifting tide.”
