Rep’s deputy speaker, Kalu launches N500m buz, family grant for 8,400 constituents

Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu, has launched N500 million business and family support grant for 8,400 families in his Bende federal constituency of Abia State.
Speaking during the launching at country home, the Deputy Speaker said the guesture was aimed at giving a sense of belonging to his constituents that elected him to the green chamber.
He said the beneficiaries were selected from the 400 political wards in the constituency.
The grant, according to him, is to support businesses and families as well as help eradicate poverty, hunger and unemployment.
Kalu who said that the payments of the funds would commence from December 30, 2024, promised to be updating them on his achievements while serving as their servant leader.
The, Deputy Speaker, solicited the constituted support of the South East geopolitical zone for President Ahmed Tinubu over his good dispositions to the zone.
He said that Tinubu had demonstrated enough love and concern for the South East and deserved the continued support and cooperation of the zone.
He said that President Tinubu had shown enough determination in tackling infrastructural decay, poverty and unemployment in the country.
On the deplorable condition of roads in his constituency, Kalu said said that many of the roads and other projects which were captured in 2024 national budget were undergoing reconstruction, while some had been completed.
He promised that the constituency would witness more developments in the coming years.
Kalu, again, thanked his constituents for giving him the mandate to represent them, and promised never to let them down.
The Deputy Speaker who said that he sponsored 105 bills in the 10th National Assembly, predicted brighter future for South East in Tinubu’s administration.
Kalu announced the donation of musical instruments for many churches in Bende federal constituency even as he assured his people that all the ongoing projects which he attracted would be completed.
Speakers upon speakers at the town hall meeting poured encomiums on the Deputy Speaker for his gestures and efforts to advance the cause of his people.
