Gregory varsity PMQ meets UK GMC requirement for oversea qualification

One of the fastest growing private universities in the South East, Gregory University Uturu, GUU, has broken new records as its Primary Medical Qualification (PMQ) awarded by the institution’s College of Medicine and Health Sciences has met the General Medical Council’s (GMC) criteria for an acceptable overseas qualification.

This was contained in a press statement by the university’s Public Relations Officer, Ekemini Udoh, made available to Wawa News Global.
According to the statement, the feat was sequel to a thorough assessment of evidence by the GMC, UK, regarding the acceptability of the PMQ awarded by GUU.
The statement quoted the UK General Medical Council as saying: “We have completed our assessment, and I am pleased to inform you that the PMQ awarded by your institution currently meets the GMC’s criteria for an acceptable overseas qualification.”
It further read:“This means that any doctor awarded a Primary Medical Qualification from Gregory University Uturu will be able to apply to sit the Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board (PLAB) Test and for GMC registration without having their qualification individually assessed.”

The statement added that the latest feat was “an addition to the earlier privilege granted by Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates ECFMG (US and Canada) to write United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE)”.
It restated the commitment of the institution to delivering quality education especially in the strategic fields of science and technology to that would qualify its products for global competition.
