It was a moment of excitement at Lodu Imenyi Community School (primary and secondary sessions), in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, as
Ndubuisi Ekwereonu Foundation distributed educational materials to the pupils and students.

The faces of both pupils and students as well as staff of the school, beamed with joy as they received various educational materials donated to them by the foundation.

The materials include: 40 desks, school bags, dozens of exercise books, white boards, markers and others.

Distributing the items to the beneficiaries, Founder of the Foundation Hon. Nnadozie Ndubuisi Ekwereonu, said the gesture was in memory of his late father who had penchant for education.
His late father, an educatioist, died three years ago.
Nnadozie expressed deep concern over the neglect of the education sector by Government.
He emphasised the need for adequate attention to the education sector considering its crucial role in the development of any society.
According to him, any society without properly educated youths, is doomed.
The Lagos-based philanthropist and poultry farmer argued that basic education should be free if Nigeria truly wants to have a great future.

He urged Government to invest more in education especially now that many Nigerians are struggling to survive following the worsening economic situation.
Nnadozie advocated the investment of reasonable chunk of the fuel subsidy palliative in the education sector to avoid students dropping from school as a result of hardship.
He also wants attention given to vocational education to enable graduates start up easily upon graduation.

Nnadozie who said his donation to the schools had no political attachments, called on private individuals and corporate bodies not to leave education in the hands of Governments alone.
The philanthropist tasked the management of the schools on the preservation of the desks while charging the beneficiaries to take their studies seriously.
He disclosed that the Foundation was contemplating setting up a scholarship scheme to assist poor students in their educational pursuit.

” My father loved education, and I want to support people to acquire good education in his honour. This is one of the ways to remember my father”.
Responding on behalf of others, the Senior Prefect of the secondary school, Master Godswill Ogbonnaya, said they were full of joy for the gesture.
He showered praises on the benefactor, and prayed God to bless him.
Responding also, the Principal, Mrs Doris Oparaocha; and the Headmistress of the primary session, Mrs Patience Kanu, commended the Foundation for the support, and prayed God to replenish the source.
The Principal who identified lack of desks and laboratory as the major challenges of the school, said the intervention was a huge relief.
Meanwhile, the President General of the Community, Chief Victor Ndubuisi, has commended Nnadozie for the gesture, describing him as a patriotic and illustrious son of the community.
The PG hailed Nnadozie for for his earlier interventions in the school, and urged other illustrious sons and daughters of the community to emulate him.

He recalled how the philanthropist had intervened when the Principal’s office was burgled sometime ago.
The PG also recalled that when rain destroyed the Headmistress office, Nnadozie assisted in re-fixing it.
He prayed God to continue to replenish the source.
Another son of the community, Assistant Synod Secretary, Methodist Church, Umuahia Diocese, Very Rev. Steve Kanu, commended the benefactor, and described the gesture overwhelming.
He said that the Foundation had set a good step for others to emulate.
