Why Hon Emeka Okorafor deserves return ticket to Abia H’Assembly

The incontrovertible scorecard of the member representing Isuikwuato state constituency at the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Emeka Okorafor, is so impressive that he deserves to be reciprocated with a return ticket to the hollowed chamber come 2023.

Hon. Okorafor has not only distinguished himself in the art of lawmaking where he already has a number of Bills to his credit, but also wrote his name in gold in the attraction of quality projects and discharge of oversight functions despite coming from the opposition party in the state.
The All Progressive Congress, APC, lawmaker has given good account of himself through quality representation and positive impacts on his constituents.
He has presented several matters of urgent public importance on infrastructure especially bad roads and erosion menace, local government system of government, security and welfare of Isuikwuato constituents. He has presented motions including on the welfare of our traditional rulers. He is a very skilled and eloquent legislator.

The former law Lecturer, Abia State University is the sponsor of HAB 51 (Access Rights to information and records in Abia State) and HAB 52 (State Economic Board of Abia State)and co sponsor of several Bills in the current seventh Assembly.
Others include: Bills on Erosion Fund Management; Border Community Development Agency ; while Host Community Development Agency is awaiting the necessary leadership attention.

Hon. Okorafor facilitated the building of a four classroom block at Acha central school, another classroom block at Uturu community school and the renovation of a three classroom block in Ahaba community primary school.
He has constructed (self funded) a model market for Ezere community, and is building a court Hall in Ovim (self funded).
He is currently constructing a five classroom block in Ahaba Secondary School ( self funded).
Hon. Okorafor facilitated the establishment of five customary courts in Ovim, Eluama, Umuobiala, Umunnekwu and Uturu with Ovim and Umunnekwu functional already.
Interesting too, solar lights provisions are spreading and expanding through collaboration with Rt Hon Nkeiruka Onyejeocha and Senator Orji Uzo Kalu.
Through understanding, partnership and synergy with the member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi , the first phase erosion control and management has been completed and second phase is about to commence.

He also embarked upon several community roads including Otamkpa road, Amaibo Road, Amaidi Achara road etc, which have also been completed.
Road construction is ongoing in Ahaba while Echiele road will be commencing by the end of construction of Ahonta -Oporoto -Umuokogbuo road.
Amiyi-Obilohia-Ndiogu road , Amachara-Acha road., Eluobayi-Amaeke-Ohonja, Umudinja-Agboobayi road, Amune-Orua Obilohia-road, Ihenzu-Iheokwe to mention but a few will commence in matter of months.
Chief Okorafor hails from Amauzu-Amaeke Ovim in Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State.
He is a graduate of Abia State University with First Class Honours Degree (LL.B) and overall Best Graduating Student ABSU 2006; Best Graduating Student in Civil litigation , Nigerian Law School 2008.

Hon Emeka has a Masters Degree in Law (LLM) with Distinction.
A former lecturer in the Faculty of Law,Abia State University , Hon Emeka Okorafor voluntarily resigned his appointment in accordance with the provisions of 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to contest for House of Assembly election for Isuikwuato state constituency in 2019.
Hon Barr Emeka Okorafor is the Deputy Minority Leader and member representing Isuikwuato state constituency at Abia State House of Assembly Umuahia. He is a member of several standing committees and the chairman House Committee on Justice and Judiciary and also House Committee Chairman on public petitions.
He is a member of several Ad-hoc Committees of the House including committee on ABSU,Board of internal revenue etc and chaired the following Ad-hoc Committees including committee on School of Health Aba that brought about the regular payment of salaries and pension in the school through the committee investigation, findings/observation and recommendations which were adopted by the House and implemented by the Executive; Chairman Ad-hoc Committees on Paris Refund Fund, Abia polytechnic on loss of accreditation, etc.
