Greg Ibe’s ‘new Abia project’ still on course despite distractions – Aide
By Steve Oko
Despite some legal fireworks against the candidacy of the governorship flag bearer of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, in Abia State, Professor Greg Ibe, his media team has said that his “New Abia project is still on course”
The team explained that contrary to concocted tales in some quarters and the machinations of anti-democratic forces holding the state down, Professor Ibe remains the authentic candidate of APGA, “and is not in contempt of any court”.
This is contained in a press statement issued Monday by the Head, Media Team of the project, the Rev. Sleek Ogwo.
The statement explained that following the unfavorable court judgement delivered by Abuja Federal High Court, Ibe’s legal team filed a stay of execution after appealing the said judgement.
According to the statement, the APGA governorship hopeful has since then, continued with his campaigns towards realizing his ambition of emancipating Abians from socio-economic bondage.
The statement made available to Wawa News Global, enjoined all progressives in the state not to waiver in their support for the Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies until he fully accomplished his lofty dreams for Abia.
It read in part: “Sequel to the unfavorable ruling of Justice Binta Nyako of Federal High Court Abuja on the matter between our Principal Prof Gregory Ibe and Sir Chikwe Udensi, the legal team of our campaign organization promptly commenced processes of appeal and stay of execution.
“Subsequently, while earnestly awaiting re-examination of the contending issues by the court of appeal, the divine project of realizing A NEW ABIA by delivering her from undemocratic forces, as currently being championed by Prof Gregory Ibe, continue unabated.
“By this release therefore, we wish to place it on record that we are currently not in contempt of any proceedings in either the court of appeal or any other court for that matter.”
