Those who invaded our office carted away N50 million, gen set, computers – APGA chair, Ehiemere
By Steve Oko
Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Abia State, has claimed that N50 million was missing after some “miscreants” invaded the state secretariat of the party, Tuesday in Umuahia.

Ehiemere who made the claims while addressing newsmen inside the premises of the party’s secretariat located at 128 Aguiyi Ironsi Street Umuahia after said invasion, also alleged that computer sets, generating set and other office equipment belonging to the party were carted away.
He told Wawa News Global that a former Chairman of the party who purportedly took over the secretariat was an impostor and “can never be allowed to hijack the party.”

According to him, the tenure of the said ex-Chairman expired since 2014 after his suspension, hence, he cannot come to claim leadership of the party eight years after.
Ehiemere said that anti-democratic forces jittery of the growing popularity of APGA were trying to use the former party Chairman to distabilise the party.
He alleged that the former Chairman stormed the party secretariat with thugs and broke into the office unlawfully.
Ehiemere who was accompanied by some policemen to the party’s premises during the briefing said that the former Chairman deceived the security personnel earlier deployed to the premises with expired Court order.
Adding his voice, the state Legal Adviser of the party, Mr Chukwuemeka Nwokoro, said that the invasion of the party office was illegal and punishable by law.
He said that the former Chairman should have gone back to the court to file the necessary processes if he believed that he had a valid order that was not obeyed instead of resorting to self help by breaking into the party office.
Nwokoro said the law would soon catch up with all those involved in the invasion.
