Evangelist Parkins Ogede Organises Thank You Get Together For Stakeholders

The immediate past Vice Chairman of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, Evangelist Parkins Ogede in collaboration with former Councilors representing ward 5 Otuan, Hon. Blessing Agiri, and Ward 9, Hon.Imomotimi Walcourt, Ward 10, Hon. Favour Saniyigha, and Ward eleven, Hon. Ogolo Williams in Amassoma have organised a thank you get-together for stakeholders from Amatolo, Otuan and Amassoma at his residence along Berger flyover Azikoro bye,-pass in Yenagoa.
In his welcome address Evangelist Parkins Ogede said they were elected into office by the people at the grassroots who supported them for the past three years and thought it wise to present their scorecard and formerly say thank you.
He listed some of the achievements they made while in office to include renovation of Otuan Secondary School teachers quarters by the ward 5 Councilor, Hon. Blessing Agiri, construction of concrete road by Hon.Imomotimi Walcourt at Goin-Ama Ward 9, construction of concrete road spanning over 300 meters stretch by Hon Favour Saniyigha at Okolobo-Ama in Ward 10 and construction of 6 meters by 100 meters stretch concrete Kanga road by Hon.Ogolo Williams at Efeke-Ama, Ward 11 in Amassoma.
The former Vice Chairman said he influenced the construction of the Ogobiri Amassoma roundabout road, Amatolo Primary School road and town hall in Okolobo-Ama in Amassoma.
He expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity given to them to serve the state and thanked Governor Douye Diri and his Deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo for finding them worthy to contribute to the development of the grassroots in the state.
Evangelist Parkins Ogede appreciated former Governor Henry Seriake Dickson and particularly the member representing Southern Ijaw Constituency 1 in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon. Felix Bonny Ayah for nurturing him to the height he has attained in Bayelsa politics and also thanked Chief Nigeria Kia Ebidoughebofa for respecting his views and cementing a cordial working relationship with him during their tenure in office
Speaking on behalf of the outgone Councilors, the former Ward 9 Councilor, Hon. Imomotimi Walcourt urged politicians from Ogboin Clan to demonstrate spirit of understanding, avoid bitterness and pull him down syndrome and present a united front to achieve set goals for the clan.
He thanked Chief Remember Nicholas Pabaraebi Ogbe for making it possible for him to rise as Councilor.
In his goodwill message, Hon.Felix Bonny Ayah lauded Evangelist Parkins Ogede for demonstrating great exemplary leadership qualities, particularly appreciating the fact that he was bearing the mandate of the people.
Hon. Felix Bonny Ayah stated that the singular act of gathering and thanking the people has opened a new chapter in the political career of Evangelist Parkins Ogede.
The lawmaker enjoined the leadership of the state to support Evangelist Ogede and the Councilors to go for second tenure.
Speaking in similar vein, Chief Steven Diver noted that Evangelist Parkins Ogede has the ability to relate well with people from opposition camps stressing that the trait he has demonstrated will stand him out to last and go far in politics.
He stressed the need to build younger political leaders in the mould of Evangelist Parkins Ogede as the older generation will be retiring and showered encomiums on Hon. Imomotimi Walcourt for advocating for power sharing among the communities in Ogboin Clan.
Chief Steven Diver appealed to stakeholders to support Evangelist Parkinson Ogede to become the next Chairman and the councilors for a second tenure.
Also speaking a former Chairman of Southern Ijaw Local Government, Chief (Mrs) Aparetari Ogugu described Evangelist Parkins Ogede as a humble and service oriented grassroots rising politicians, always open to advice who have navigated through stormy waters to deliver in any given assignment.
She commended him and the four Councillors for the wisdom to thank the stakeholders and expressed satisfaction with their performance, and learnt her voice for them to go for second tenure.
On his part, Chief Remember Nicholas Ogbe in his goodwill message noted that the get together thank you organised by Evangelist Parkinson Ogede is first of is kind in the history of Ogboin politics for elected representives to gather stakeholders to say thank you at the expiration of tenure.
He advised leaders in the clan to work in unity and forge ahead.
