BREAKING: Chuku Wachuku withdraws from senatorial race
* Cites impunity, lack of transparency
By Steve Oko

A leading senatorial aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for Abia Central, Chief Chuku Wachuku, has pulled out from the party’s primaries slated for today.
The pioneer Director General,DG, National Directorate of Employment, NDE, who announced his withdrawal in a letter to the Chairman of PDP, Isiala-Ngwa North Local Government Area, cited impunity and lack of transparency in the build up to the exercise as reasons for his action.
He insisted that contrary to claims by the party leadership, there was no three-man delegate congress held anywhere in his senatorial zone and indeed the entire state.
Wachuku alleged that the list of purported delegates for the primaries had remained hidden, adding that those bent on manipulating the system had perfected plans to use strage list for the exercise.
Public outcry and rejection have trailed the party’s three man delegate election and primaries.
