BREAKING: Sources allege plot to compel Abia PDP SWC, ward chairmen to endorse 3-man delegate list
* It’s a lie – PDP
* As national leadership may resort to only statutory delegates for Abia

Multiple sources have alleged plot to compel the State Working Committee, SWC, of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to endorse the controversial three-man delegate congress purportedly held on May 6.
A highly-placed source told Wawa News Global that those behind the evil scheme had scheduled a meeting to hoodwink the SWC members into endorsing the controversial three-man delegate congress.
According to the source, the SCW members will be asked to sign at the meeting that the congress held, adding that anyone who refuses to endorse the purported congress will be threatened with sanctions.
The source further said that similar meeting is being schemed for Ward Chairmen to endorse that the purported congress held in their respective wards.
It was also alleged that huge amount of money had been ear-marked  to induce the invitees at both meetings to do the needful.
“Be informed that plans are on ground by Political  desperados to call the ward chairmen to sign some documents that ward congress were held in all the wards.
“No ward Chairman should sign such a malicious and mischievous document as it is capable of deafeating our struggle to liberate Abia”, another source added.
But in a swift reaction, the PDP Vice Chairman, Abia North who doubles as the party’s Acting Publicity Secretary, Elder Abraham, dismissed the allegation as false alarm.
He said there was no need to force anybody to endorse any documents because it was not in doubt that PDP successfully held its three-man delegate congress in Abia.
He said that the party had already in an earlier statement Wednesday, explained that the SWC had affirmed that the three-man delegate election held in the state.
Elder Amah dismissed the insinuation as fictitious and a social media attempt by the people highly respected and educated enough to misinterprete a letter from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
He said that those trying to create the impression that there was no three-man delegate election were only crying wolf where there was none.
Meanwhile, another highly credible source confided in Wawa News Global that the National leadership of the party was contemplating jettisoning three-man delegates for the party’s primaries in Abia, as a middle ground for the waring parties.
According to the source, the National leadership is mulling the idea of using only statutory delegates to avoid the Rivers and Zamfara APC experiences in 2019.
The source said that the party had earlier muted the idea of coming up with a harmonised list of delegates but had to drop the idea due to legal implications arising from the INEC’s letter that the Commission did not receive another correspondence from the party for a delegate congress other than the botched May 4 congress.
The source said that if the controversy over the three man delegate congress were not amicably resolved, PDP might not have candidates in the 2023 elections or those who fly the party’s flags would lose their seats later in the court.
” Our party should not promote impunity and imposition of candidates. What are they afraid of if they think they are popular? Why not allow equal opportunity for all the aspirants so that whoever emerges at the primaries will know he is truly our flag bearer”.
Wawa News Global reports that about nine governorship and other aspirants of the party including the Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu; Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Senator Emma Nwaka, Ncheta Omerekpe, Enyinnaya Nwafor, among others, addressed a press conference Wednesday in Abuja, insisting that no three-man delegate congress was held in Abia.
The aspirants who warned the party leadership not to take them for granted, warned that the party might implode should the leadership go ahead to conduct the primaries with doctored list.
