* Says he doesn’t want to win election, lose seat in court
By Steve Oko
Leading Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, senatorial aspirant for Abia Central, Chief Chuku Wachuku, has supported the position of majority of the party’s governorship aspirants who warned the party leadership against going ahead to conduct the party primaries without three-man delegate congress.
Majority of the party’s governorship aspirants including Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu; Senator Emma Nwaka, Dr Sampson Orji, Enyinnaya Nwafor, Ncheta Omerekpe, among others, had at a press conference earlier today in Abuja, warned the party leadership not to take them for granted.
The aggrieved aspirants insisted that contrary to claims by a segment of the party leadership, there was no three-man delegate election in any part of the state.
They advised the National leadership of PDP to jettison the controversial three-man delegate and use only statutory delegates in conducting the party’s forthcoming primaries in Abia.
Supporting their position, Chief Wachuku said he would not want to win the election and later lose the seat at the court because of a faulty primaries.
He said that a desperate tiny segment of the leadership of the party in the state should not be allowed to ruin the fortunes of the party and its aspirants because of vested interests.
The pioneer Director General of the National Directorate of Employment, NDE, said the party should follow due process and observe internal democracy in selecting its flag bearers for the 2023 elections.
He said that anybody claiming that three-man delegate congress took place in any part of Abia “is a blatant lier”,  vowing to resist any attempt to short-circuit the process.
” We are solidly on ground here. Nobody can intimidate us. If they think they are popular, let them meet us at the field.
” Nobody can swear an oath that any three-man delegate congress held in any part of this state. If any does, such a person must be a blatant lier.
” If they want PDP to implode we are ready for them. They will be the worst losers loosers because we all have our other options”.
