Breaking: Ikwuano -Umuahia stakeholders buy Reps form for Abia Speaker

Major political stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ikwuano-Umuahia federal consituency of Abia State, have purchased and handed over to the Abia Speaker, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji, nomination and expression of interest forms for the House of Representatives.
Handing over the forms to the Speaker Sunday in his Umuahia residence, they stakeholders begged him to accept the clamour for him to move to the Green Chamber.
Speaking on behalf of the stakeholders, the Chairman Abia Warriors Football Club, Pastor Emeka Inyama, said the Speaker’s performance at the Abia House of Assembly was superlative.
He said that the Speaker had built projects outside his constituency and empowered a lot of youths across the state.
Inyama also noted that the Speaker had transformed the Abia House of Assembly, and said that he would do more if given higher opportunity.
He also said that the Speaker had brought stability to the Abia Assembly, and had supported the Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu-led administation.
The stakeholders noted that they were aware that youths had been clamouring for him to join the governorship race but appealed to him to rather go for the House of Representatives’ seat which, according to them, will serve the interest of the people better.
In a remark, the member representing Umuahia South State constituency, Hon. Jerry Uzosike, said the Speaker remained the hope of Ikwuano Umuahia federal constituency, and assured him of the continued support of the people.
He threatened to sue the Speaker if he turned down the offer.
Responding, the Speaker thanked the stakeholders for the gesture but begged them to give him 48 hours to consult before taking a decision.
Some of the stakeholders were former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Charles Ogbonna; Chief Emma Nwabuko; Umuahia North Council boss, Ugochukwu Njikonye; and ex-Labour Leader, Lucky Akabuike.
Others were former Ikwuano Council boss, Mrs Ngozi Orji; former member representing Ikwuano state constituency, Hon. Wisdom; among others.
