It was a gathering of guests from all walks of life at Umudem Kindred Umuakata Ichida, in the Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, during the funeral ceremony of Matriarch of the Ezebube’s, late Ezinne Josephine Ezebube nee Udegbunam.

The colourful funeral ceremony was held on Thursday the 10th of March, 2022.

Among guests at the funeral, were Captains of Industry, Government functionaries, Traditional Rulers, the Academic and the Clergy.

The St Simon’s Anglican Church Ichida was filled to brim with guests from all corners of the globe, gathered on that day.

In his funeral homily, Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Bishop Diocese of Awka, the Most Reverend Alexander Chibuzo Ibezim , described the deceased Matriarch of the Ezebube’s, as a God fearing woman and one who was visible in the things of the Lord, during her life time.
The Cleric also described her as one that imbibed life’s good virtues in her children, and a benefactor to numerous people.
He enjoined the living to live a worthy life of emulation, by professing Christ as their Lord and personal saviour, in order for them to inherit the kingdom of God at death.

The remains of late Ezinne Josephine Ezebube, was conveyed by Funeral Undertakers in a long motor cade, accompanied by relatives, friends and well wishers, to her husband’s compound, amid eulogy, testimonies and funeral farewell songs.

First Son of the deceased, Chief Emeka Ezebube ( Onowu), described his mother as an epitome of womanhood, who was kind to people that crossed her path, during her meritorious life on earth.
Onowu posited that his late mother was a pillar of support to her late husband, just as he prayed God to grant her soul eternal rest in His bosom.

Ezinne Chinwe Ifebunandu, the Ada Onowu, described her mother as one with a selfless act of kindness, intuitive advice and love for family, while stating she would miss her dearly.
She was of the view she is in the Lord’s bosom.

Sir Chukwubunna Ezebube ( Omekannaya), third son of the deceased, described her late mother as one that lived a life that was worthy of emulation, while adding that her demise had left a vaccum in the family, being one that will be difficult to fill.
He prayed God to grant her soul eternal rest.

One of the deceased Son in laws, Sir Ken Okafor, described the life of the Matriarch, as one of good relationship and love to humanity.

Another Son in law of the deceased Matriarch of the Ezebube’s, Sir Nwabunike Ezejelue (Ebube Aniocha Gburugburu), described her as a wonderful Mother in-law, while thanking God for the wonderful memories he shared with her.
” She lived an honest life of integrity. Her life was one of service to both Church and Community, and had peace and love to those who came across her during her life time on earth. Her sweet memories shall continually remain in our hearts” Sir Okafor had spoken in an emotionally laden tone, while wishing Mama’s gentle soul rest in the peace of the Lord.

Representatives of the Geoelis Cable Ltd, a business conglomerate founded by late Odoziaku Onowu’s husband, late Chief (Sir) Geoffrey Chukwumata Okeke Ezebube, Ichie Onowu, were fully represented at the funeral ceremony.

Late Ezinne Josephine Ezebube was born into the family of late Chief Udegbunam Ezemoka and late Madam Gladys Odugo Ezemoka of Umuanusi Kindred Ichida.
She was a dedicated Christian of Anglican denomination, member of Mother’s Union and Women’s guild, Patroness Boys and Girls Brigade Nigeria and many others.

She is survived by eight children among whom are Chief Emeka Ezebube, Ezinne Chinwendu Ifebunandu, Ezinne Edith Ezenwafor, Lady Uchechukwu Ogbuka, Lady Ifeyinwa Ezejelue, Chief Chukwudum Ezebube, Chief (Sir) Chukwubunna Ezebube, Chief (Engr) Obiora Ezebube, numerous grand children, in-laws and great grand children.
