Soludo takes over from Obiano as Anambra gov

Professor Chukwuma Soludo has been sworn in as the sixth Governor of Anambra State.

He was sworn in by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu at the Government House Awka, amid tight security and a mammoth crowd of supporters.
Soludo took over the reigns of power from Gov. Willie Obiano who today completed his second term in office.
The former Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Governor who won the November 6, 2021 governorship poll on the platform of the ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA.
Soludo defeated his closest rivals from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); and the All Progressives Congress (APC), Valentine Ozigbo and Emmanuel Nnamdi Uba, respectively.
Despite earlier information by Soludo that the event would be low-keyed, Government House Awka, venue of the swearing in ceremony was filled to the brim by enthusiastic Anambrarians who came to catch a glimpse of the colourful ceremony
A crowd of supporters who could not gain entry into the venue watched from the overflow outside the Government House along Enugu- Onitsha Expressway.
