By Steve Oko

Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu has described Professor Greg Ibe as a “true friend and valued ally who has shown unrivaled support” to his administration, and competent to govern Abia State is given the opportunity.
The Governor who stated this when Ibe and his entourage visited him Friday in his Umuobiakwa, Obingwa country home to formally inform him of his governorship ambition in 2023, said that every part of Abia was blessed with a galaxy of eminently qualified personalities capable of transforming the state.

The Abia governor gave a warm reception to Ibe and wished him well in his race even as he urged him to continue supporting the party as events are unfolding.
Ikpeazu made it clear that “every zone of the state is peopled by capable individuals who fulfill the requirements to successfully manage the business of governance” in Abia State.
He bemoaned utterances and permutations by detractors who peddle rumours that aspirants from Abia North have been disqualified from the governorship race.
Ikpeazu expressed satisfaction with the calibre of personalities that have indicated their interest to succeed him while also saying that among all aspirants, only one person could be governor at any given period.
The governor reiterated that power is bestowed by God and it is so designed by God that it cannot be left in the hands of any one man.
He said that even as he has his own opinion on the issue of succession, he remained confident that the outcome will be what God sanctions and it will be for the good of Abia state.
In a remark, Hon. Boniface Ikwuagwu, a member of Professor Ibe’s entourage thanked the governor for a warm reception and appreciated his developmental strides in the state.

He urged the governor to sustain his developmental strides.
