Xmas: Greg Ibe distributes 3,277 bags of rice to 17 LGAs in Abia
By Steve Oko

The Chancellor of Gregory University Uturu, Prof Gregory Ibe has donated 3,277 bags of rice for distribution to all 17 Local Government Areas in Abia State for Christmas celebration.
The rice was packaged in 10 kg, 25kg and 50kg and meant for the 292 electoral wards in the state.

Flagging off the 2021 edition of the state wide Prof Gregory Ibe Christmas Gifts Distribution to Abians, the philanthropist enjoined Abians to show love to one another.
He enjoined Abians to be true adherents of the Christian faith by showing love to others especially during the Christmas season.
Represented by the Director General of Abia Crusaders Foundation, Prince Emeka Okafor, Prof Ibe contended that love is the real reason for the yuletide season, and challenged Abians to emulate God’s example, who according to him, “Sent our Lord Jesus Christ to the world on Christmas day because of the love he has for us”.

He therefore enjoined Abians to “imitate and replicate the divine example of God by extending gifts of love especially to the less privileged during the Christmas season”.
To facilitate the exercise, he inaugurated two distribution teams, charging them to implement successful conveyance of the rice gifts to Abians.
The gesture is coming amidst the ongoing donation of books and academic equipment to schools across the state.
Meanwhile, the benevolent gesture was received with wild and spontaneous jubilation in all the LGAs covered by the two distribution teams as beneficiaries leaped with joy.

They poured encomiums on Prof Ibe, praying God to grant him more opportunities to serve the state better.
The 2021 edition of Prof Gregory Ibe Christmas gifts distribution exercise marked the climax of a series of philanthropic projects embarked upon by the university don during the course of the year as Corporate Social Responsibility.
Prof Ibe had earlier in the year magnanimously undertaken many charity projects, including, award of scholarship to 130 Abians for strategic undergraduate studies in Gregory University Uturu, free medical outreaches in targeted rural communities and distribution of text books to public and private school in the state.
