US Secretary of State visits INNOV8 centre, commends Greg Ibe’s entrepreneurial drive

US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken has lauded the entrepreneurial drive of Abia industrialist, Professor Greg Ibe.

Blinken made the commendation during a visit to Ibe’s Innov8 technology Hub, Abuja as part of his first trip to Sub Saharan Africa.




The US Secretary of State was accompanied by Ambassador Mary Beth Leonard.

He said the centre would encourage innovation, research and development in Africa which he strongly believes will also promote a more inclusive and sustainable economic growth in Nigeria.
Responding, Professor Ibe who is also the Chancellor, Gregory University Uturu, said he founded Innov8 Hub, to encourage technological innovation among youths.
He reiterated his commitment to innovation start-up and creation of ecosystem of innovators and inventors in Nigeria.






Earlier in a remark, Deji Ige who introduced the US Secretary of State, described Innov8 as a “focal point for innovation start-up, incubation, technology transfer, skill importation, prototype development and fabrication in the country.”
The event featured showcasing of some innovative start-ups including Zipline, Outsource Global, Hotspot and i-FAIR Israel Nigeria innovations.
