Anambra: Ohuabunwa congratulates Soludo, urges other contenders to concede defeat

Senator Mao Ohuabunwa has congratulated the Anambra Governor-elect, Professor Chukwuma Soludo on his victory at the November 6 governoship election.
Ohuabunwa who described Soludo’s emergence at the poll as a clear confirmation that power ultimately resides with the people, urged the former Central Bank Governor not to disappoint Anambra electorates who risked their lives to vote him into power.
He recalled that the build-up to the election was akin to a military campaign but expressed delight that the exercise was hugely peaceful and successful.
The former Leader House of Representatives appealed to Soludo to be magnanimous in victory, while urging to losers at the poll to accept the outcome of the exercise in the spirit of sportsmanship.
He advised other contestants to queue behind the Governor elect as he gets set to unfold his agenda for the state which he believed would engender economic recovery and transformation considering Soludo’s antecedents.
Senator Ohuabunwa who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP National Executive Council NEC, commended contestants at the poll who had already called Soludo to conced defeat, describing them as true democrats.
He also saluted the courage of Anambra electorates especially women who rejected financial inducement and refused to vote against their concience, describing them as heroes of democracy.
Senator Ohuabunwa commended security agents, as well as the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC for their transparency in the conduct of the election which he said is widely accepted as free and fair.
Ohuabunwa said that the outcome of the Anambra election had brightened  hope that the 2023 election would be free and fair contrary to fears in some quarters.
