Abductors of UNIABUJA staff demand N300m ransom — varsity source
The abductors of the six individuals that were kidnapped from the University of Abuja on Tuesday have reached out to their families, according to a university source.
Sources familiar with the matter confirmed the new development to our correspondent in Abuja on Wednesday.
“They demanded N50 million naira for each person, they have contacted the family but that is all we know for now,” one source said.
Confirming the development to our correspondent, the Public Relations Officer of the school, Habib Yakoob told our correspondent, “They got in touch with the family, the parents of the abducted children were contacted. We learnt they are asking for N300 million for all of them”.
The PUNCH reports that a yet-to-be-disclosed number of gunmen stormed the University of Abuja in the wee hours of Tuesday morning and made away with two professors, a non-academic staff and three others.
