The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Abia State chapter, has passed a vote of confidence on the National President of NUJ, Comrade, and adopted him for a second term office.

Isiguzo, who hails from Abia State is seeking a fresh mandate at the NUJ triennial delegates conference coming up at the Michael Okpara Auditorium Umuahia on October 5th – 7th.

The Abia NUJ in a three-point communique after its monthly congress on Wednesday, described Isiguzo as a focused and dynamic Leader.
NUJ also debunked rumours in some quarters that the state is not safe, dismissing it as untenable blackmail by mischief makers.
The council declared that “Abia is peaceful and safe”, assuring delegates to the forthcoming congress that their safety is guaranteed.

The communique jointly signed by the Chairman of the Communique Committee,
Chukwuma Emele ; Secretary, Divine Nwankwo – Secretary; and Juliet Onyebuchi, read in part:
“That in view of the fact that Abia State is hosting the Triannial delegates conference of the NUJ for the first time and our son, Comrade Christopher Isinguzo is recontesting, the Council passes implicit vote of confidence on the National President and adopts him as the sole candidate for Abia Council.
“Abia State is 100 percent safe to host the forthcoming 7th Triennial Delegates of the NUJ and the security of the State is not questionable.”
NUJ also condemned growing extortions by security agents in the state and called on the authorities to stop the anomaly.
” The security operatives, especially the Police should stop the continuous illegal and forceful collection of money from motorists in and around Abia State.”
