2023: NNG , Ohanaeze president, Igbo movie actors, others endorse Ohuabunwa’s presidential ambition

The presidential ambition of Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, yesterday, received the nod of the New Nigeria Group, NNG, a new political movement that is canvasing for a better new Nigeria; President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Professor George Obiozor; Association of Igbo Nollywood movie actors and producers, and other eminent individuals and groups from across the country.
The event which concluded the launching of NNG chapters in all the states of Nigeria and the activation of phase two of the group’s
strategy was held at the Classique Event Centre, Oregun Rd, Ikeja- Lagos.
Eminent personalities and a crowd of enthusiastic members of NNG, and various support groups from all parts of the country graced the glamorous occasion.
Some of the eminent personalities include the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Prof. George Obiozor; the Chairman of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Dr. B.O. Aniebonam; Mr. Sam Ogbemudia Jnr.; respected royal fathers and other distinguished Nigerians.
Speaking at the launch, the Convener of the NNG, Mazi Ohuabunwa, lamented the miserable state of the country that necessitated the founding of the NNG.
The former CEO of Neimeth Pharmaceuticals Plc and ex-President of the Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG), promised to re-fix Nigeria if given the opportunity to preside over the affairs of the country.
The former President, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria identified insecurity, corruption, poverty and injustice as four major challenges that have made Nigeria a backward nation “where life has become brutish for many”.
Proposing a solution, Mazi Ohuabunwa said, “As a Nigerian patriot, I have over the years talked, written and proposed ideas about how to rescue Nigeria, yet no change. It is now time for action. We at the NNG are ready to put words and ideas to action and help create a new Nigeria that works for all and not for a few.
” We will provide an inclusive leadership and return Nigeria to a country of industry, knowledge, excellence, integrity, liberty, justice, sanity and security on the foundation of true Godliness, not mere religiosity. I call on all Nigerians to join hands with us.”
Mazi Ohuabunwa, after his speech which was greeted with rousing ovation and shouts of support, presented the NNG flags to all state chapter coordinators, inducted new members into the Lagos State Chapter of the NNG and also presided over its inaugural stakeholders meeting.
Good will messages expressing support and endorsement of Mazi Ohuabunwa to run for president in 2023 were received from several eminent individuals, groups and political parties.
Those who spoke in support of the NNG Convener at the event include the Ohanaeze helmsman, Prof. Obiozor; Dr.Aniebonam, and Ogbemudia Jr.
Others include an Octogenarian, Engr. Nath Okoro, the first indigenous Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation; royal fathers; diverse Arewa groups from the North; groups from South West; South East and South South groups, as well as representatives from Diaspora who spoke online.
In his own remark, Obiozor lauded the excellent records of Mazi Ohuabunwa in service to the country in various capacities, affirming that he has what it takes to lead Nigeria.
He also challenged all Igbo sons and daughters to be bold to declare their ambitions and run for president “because they are more than qualified”.
Lending their support , Association of Nollywood Igbo Movie Actors & Producers at the event collectively endorsed the presidential ambition of Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa and presented him an Award of Excellence, hailing his impeccable attributes as befitting of a future president of Nigeria.
