Sen Ohuabunwa congratulates Mrs Ikpeazu on her Int’l award for women empowerment

Senator Mao Ohuabunwa has congratulated Abia First Lady, Dr Mrs Okezie Ikpeazu on her international recognition as the Most Outstanding Supporter of Women.

The Award was presented to Mrs. Ikpeazu last week in Abuja, at the International Conference of the African Regional Council for Women hosted by Nigeria.
National President of the National Council for Women Societies, Dr. Gloria Laraba Shoda, had said the choice of Mrs. Ikpeazu for the prestigious award was made after a rigorous evaluation of her programmes and actions as First lady of Abia State.

Felicitating the First Lady on her new feather, Senator Ohuabunwa said her humanitarian gestures and empathy especially towards widows and the downtrodden made her outstanding amongst other First ladies in the country.
The former Speaker ECOWAS Parliament, commended the Abia First Lady for providing a platform for empowering women and reviving the hope of many destitutes.
Ohuabunwa who represented Abia North in the eight senate recalled that Mrs Ikpeazu had before now received numerous recognitions for her outstanding work in women empowerment and protection from several institutions including the United Nations Habitat Programme.

He described her as a silent achiever and a beacon of hope for many, while urging her not to relent in her humanitarian gestures and impactful leadership.
The former Leader House of Representatives challenged other women in power to emulate the steering leadership qualities of Dr. Mrs. Ikpeazu, who he said had added value to many lives.
