Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, African pride says ex- Speaker ECOWAS Parliament

Former Speaker, ECOWAS Parliament, Sen Mao Ohuabunwa, has congratulated former Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala on her emergence as the new Director General, World Trade Organization, WTO.
Senator Ohuabunwa who represented Abia North in the eight senate described Okonjo-Iweala as ” a pacesetter and the pride of Africa”.
He expressed delight over the appointment of Okonjo-Iweala as the new DG of WTO, describing her appointment as well deserved.
Ohuabunwa in a statement described the former World Bank Director as a competent hand for the job considering her intimidating resume.
He recalled that as the Cordinating Minister for the Economy, as well as other sensitive positions held by Okonjo-Iweala in the past, she distinguished herself with excellence.
Ohuabunwa said he had no doubt that Okonjo-Iweala would bring to bear her array of experience, enterprising spirit and integrity in finance management and global contacts and international diplomacy.
He prayed for God’s wisdom and guidance in her new assignment which he said would mark a watershed in the global economic recovery efforts and international trade.
“The world needs Okonjo-Iweala in this auspicious time to navigate out of the current economic meltdown”, Ohuabunwa said.
