Deputy gov, LG boss, others condem attack on NSCDC operatives

- Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, has condemned in strong terms, the recent attack on some personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), at Amabulou Community in Ekeremor Local Government of Bayelsa State while they were on official assignment.
The deputy Governor stated this during a meeting with stakeholders from Ekeremor LGA, which includes the Chairman ,Dr. Bertola Perekeme and other stakeholders in Government House, Yenagoa.
The state Deputy Governor, directed community leaders to work closely with security agencies to improve on peace and stability in communities, adding that it would not hesitate to wield the big stick against any community found culpable for aiding and abetting crime and criminality in the state.
Ewhrudjakpo assured the Corps personnel that government would leave no stone unturned to apprehend and prosecute the perpetrators of the hideous crime, adding that Government would look into the incessant attacks on Amabulou Community and it’s environs in other to find a lasting solution.
The deputy Governor also urged the NSCDC and other security agencies to always conduct proper investigations and inform the community leadership in some cases before embarking on their operations in communities.
Speaking in the same vein, the Chairman, Dr. Perekeme appeal to residents to be security conscious and reports any suspicious movements and urged the people to live in peace.
Dr. Perekeme condemned the attack as unwarranted and barbaric.
State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Commandant Christiana Abiakam-Omanu, commended the indigenes of Amabulou who helped to rescue some officers of the Corps after the unfortunate attack.
In their separate remarks, the Regent of Oporomor Kingdom, Chief Tamaramiebi Mitin and a legal practitioner, Chief Fedude Zimughan also condemned the attack and urged leadership of Amabulou Community to be proactive, adding government should immediately intervene in the leadership tussle rocking the community.
