Ikpeazu commissions more roads in Aba

Gov Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has commissioned four more roads in Aba.
The roads are Ojike Lane, Eziukwu road, Chisco Link, and Milverton Avenue all in Aba South Local Government Area
This is coming one week after the governor commissioned 2.3 kilometer Osusu Road, and 2.7 kilometer Egege/Ebenma Road Ogborhill.
The roads were inaugurated by the Prelate and Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, His Eminence Nzie Nsi Eke.
Speaking during the inauguration of the roads,
Ikpeazu said it was the desire of his administration to address the challenge of infrastructural deficit in the commercial city which had direct impact on the economy of the state.
He said his administration had given a face lift to some strategic roads in Aba and other parts of the state.
The governor who said that the Osisima flyover would be ready in three months time promised to address infrastructural deficiencies across the state.
He tasked residents on responsible use of public infrastructure, threatening not to give attention to any road discovered to have been destroyed by the people.
He warned against burning of tyres on the road, dumping of refuse on drainages, and other activities that could damage the roads.
Ikpeazu declared that the roads were built to last for at least 30 years and have high economic value to Aba given their strategic location at the heart of the city.
Meanwhile, the organised private sector and the entire business community in Aba, have accepted the challenge to stop people from engaging in destructive activities on the roads.
They pledged to assist government to prolong the life spàn of the roads.
Speaking on behalf of banks operating in the area, the branch manager of Access Bank, Mr. Jude Ezugwu commended Governor Ikpeazu for rebuilding the collapsed roads which he noted were very pivotal to commercial activities in Aba.
Adding his voice, the Chairman of Luxury Bus Owners Association, Mr. Jerry Ani commended Ikpeazu for working very hard to reverse the infrastructure deficit of Aba.
Similarly, the Chairman of Road Transport Employees Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), Azubuike Asuzu expressed delight at the quality of the newly built roads.
Meanwhile Senator Mao Ohuabunwa has commended Gov Ikpeazu over the rehabilitated roads.
He described the above roads as very strategic and vital for the economic survival of the state, saying they will tremendously stimulate commercial activities in the Enyimba City.
