The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Abia State Command, has commended the state chapter of the Nigeria Medical Association, NMA, over the donation of essential drugs to corps members in camp.

The Abia State Coordinator of NYSC, Mrs B. A Fasakin who conveyed the commendation in a letter addressed to the Chairman of Abia NMA, Dr. Chimezie Okwuonu, described the gesture as highly patriotic.
According to the NYSC boss, the drugs “assisted immensely in taking care of the entire camp community” during the 2020 Batch B, Stream 1A Orientation Course Course exercise.
She prayed God to bless the leadership of Abia NMA for the humanitarian gesture.
Meanwhile the NMA Chairman has urged corps members to strictly observe the covid-19 protocols to avoid contracting or spreading the deadly virus.
Dr. Okwuonu who spoke with our Correspondent in Umuahia also cautioned members of the public not to flout the necessary protocols aimed at keeping the virus at bay.
Okwuonu who said the advice had become necessary in view of the second wave of the pandemic which is more deadly than the first wave, noted however that if the basic protocols were observed, the spread of the virus would be drastically contained.
